DISCLAIMER
Applicable for Surgeons, NPs, LPNs, RNs, PT/OTs (assistants), LMTs, MAs, and Estheticians (Facial Course only)
It is HIGHLY recommended that you have attended a basic MLD course for a more comprehensive understanding of the lymphatic system.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is the mimicking of the lymphatic system. Post-operatively, lymphatic therapy is utilized to not only mimic but to wake it up, redirect lymph fluids, aid as an analgesic effect, and help with reabsorption after a major trauma (liposuction, etc). This course is NOT instruction on pushing fluid (squeeze massage/incisional drainage) from drain holes as seen on recent YouTube and TikTok videos etc. However, this does involve patients with/without drains and potential work requiring proper PPE. The courses include didactics, and hands-on labs for palpation skin labs, positioning, and treatment sequencing. Didactics will also address anatomy, vocab, stages of recovery and swelling/tissue morphology per healing stage, garment wear, state laws/reg's, scope of practice, standards of care, documentation, marketing, plus so much more!!!
This course is offered to instruct individuals on proper Lymphatic Therapy techniques and care post-operatively.
